It seems half go all at once, and others split. Seeing as it causes me horrific insomnia (and headaches), im assuming that all in morning would be best.

Brian

I had insomnia problems with Lamictal after quitting benzos and was taking it twice daily. Reducing it to a single dose in the morning helped a bit but I was still much too agitated to sleep properly and had to quit it. Is it possible for you to try a sleep aid at night as well as moving to a single morning dose?

My body is so wierd. I took or got to 50mg of lamictal took it at bedtime no trouble sleeping. I do take 20mg valium and 25mg of luvox then too. But I stopped lamictal due to excess salivation an uncommon side effect. I really didn't want to stop it. Love Phillipa

I wonder if it has something to do with the benzos Phillipa? The Lamictal seemed to augment the effect of the benzos while I was taking them, but it had a different character when I took it as a monotherapy.

I imagine you are right as the benzos would keep insomnia away or at least help. I wonder if there is any info on that? Love Phillipa

Try taking Remeron with it. Just 7.5mg Remeron per day solves the insomnia problem for me. Other drugs, such as Trazodone or Lunesta, were ineffective.

i take 300 mg lamictal daily, and at times i take temazapam for sleep difficulties. i haven't noticed any exageration of my insomnia, but for me insomnia was a problem from puberty.
i also take ativan as needed for anxiety attacks. but i do make a concerted effort not to take the narcotic drugs unless i am in dire need.
as sometimes, the lamictal doesn't curb the symptoms the doctor wants it to treat and when i feel an outburst coming or the rage irrationaly building, i will take an ativan to take the edge off my attitude and give my brain a break....
i'm diagnosed as psychotic with tendencies toward rage. is anybody else taking lamictal for this?
if so, is it working for you?

I have some borderline traits and Lamictal was wonderful for this when combined with benzos. Taken alone it actually *made* me angry and irritable all the time.
