I was wondering if anyone knew about xanax and prozac or xanax and lamictal being used together..if it interacts with one another or not...and if so..how? I have been having pretty bad panic attacks for about 4 months now and have not been able to get meds for them...but I am on prozac and lamictal..and lunesta for sleep...I want to take xanax but I am not sure if I should. Im going to see my Psychiatrist Thursday but I was just curious as to what others thoughts are. Thanks.

Personally xanax is great for panic attacks. Currently I take valium cause it's longer acting. And took them both with low dose lamictal and an antidepressant. They can be safely taken together. Love Phillipa

Xanax is fine with these meds. I've combined them before. Xanax actually seemed to somehow not only calm things down real nice, but also somehow improved depression real fast. I think there is a pretty strong potential for lamictal/prozac combo to cause panic or nervousness, because they both give a boost in the dopamine department.

I didn't know that Prozac affects the dopamine system at all, I thought it only affected serotonin...SG
