If Seroxat stopped working then would lexepro help

Posted by deniseuk190466 on November 10, 2006, at 13:21:53

Well Seroxat as I've said many times stopped working over a year ago and I never did get the same response to it that I did when I was in my 20s.

However, at least I felt alive again and was enjoying life to some degree.

I'm feeling worse on Remeron and I have a feeling the psychiatrist will try me next on lexepro. What are the chances of Lexepro working if Seroxat had stopped working?

Anyone on this board had a successful result with Lexepro after an unsuccessful result with Seroxat?

Thanks in advance.....Denise

Doesn't seroxat have an antipsychotic in it zyprexa. I would think you might need an extra antipsychtic. Are you psychotic? Love Phillipa

I had the opposite experience. Lexapro was not working after a three month trial and at different dosages. Switched to paroxetine and with in 10 days I had substantial symptomatic relief. SO who knows, it may well work in the opposite direction.

Hi Phillipa,

Seroxat/Paroxetine/Paxil is just an SSRI.

I'm not psychotic but Zyprexa does seem to lift my mood when I do take it.

I thought you were going to try the Ensam patch, are you or have you?

Thanks fca,

I get the impression from your note that the lexapro never worked for you at all.

I'm hoping that maybe the switch will work but I'm concerned that lexapro might not be as an effective drug as Seroxat.

Really? I always thought it was a combo of prozac and zyprexa. Thanks for teaching me Denise. Oh EMSAM seems no one has gotten results and even Robert David isn't using it anymore he just used it for a little extra energy and klonopin l.5 is his med. I haven't stopped thinking of it though. I may eventually as I see a new pdoc Monday. Thanks for remembering. Love Phillipa

Lexapro worked quite well for me for over three years. I them discontinued (ama) for almost a year. When the symptoms reappeared about a year later the lexapro just was not as efficacious. The paroxetine has worked beautifully and only minimal if any side effects. Who knows Thanks fca
