Do meds make it hard for you to wake up?

What do you do to counter act that? I am pleased with my current regimen of meds but I guess what is hard for me is the feeling that I am never quite all the way awake. My mental clarity is better than it has been in years and my ability to deal with problems and life in general but I guess where it falls short is that I just don't ever feel quite awake enough....I already take 60mg of Ritalin LA in the morning which does focus me and help my ADHD but I still kind of have that slow motion kind of feeling.

Does anyone have any suggestions to counter act that? Herbal supplements or something? I hate coffee and tea and Topamax is one of my meds so soda is out for sure...don't know that caffeine is really an answer anyways; that leads to crash and burn later in the day. Guess I'm wondering if there is something that is a more natural energy booster. I do take a regular multi vitamin already.
