DO some people seem to respond better to wellbutrin than they do with ssris? Ssris deplete dopamine and wellbutrin raises dopamine. Dopamine makes you feel good.

Yes, some people respond better to Wellbutrin than to SSRIs.
Just a head's up, though: there is a rule at this site limiting any poster to three posts in a row. Once you hit three, you have to wait until someone else posts, otherwise you may receive a PBC from Dr Bob or one of the deputies.
I just wanted to make sure you knew about that. Good luck.

I had nearly no response to ssri's whatsoever. Wellbutrin really kicked it the (*) for me. Then when I reached a lesser level of depression, it didn't do any more for me. I cant take it anymore with my mood stabilizer, Lamictal, because it gives me mania. I can offer more info if you have questions. I don't want to ramble about things you arent concerned with.

>Dopamine makes you feel good.
Dopamine isn't the magic pleasure chemical. It interacts with other neurotransmitters to create a sence of wellbing.
For instance, did you know that cocaine is a stronger serotonin reuptake inhibitor than dopamine reuptake inhibitor? It seems that both mechanisms are involved in its highly pleasurable effect.
