Any good or bad experience with abilify to treat depression, in bipolar II rapid cycle ?
(I already take 200 mg Lamictal, but I still feel depressed.)

For me, it helps with mental energy and motivation, but does not produce a robust antidepressant effect. I know someone who became hypomanic from taking Abilify. Although I don't see too many people describing it as being a miracle drug for them, I feel it is worth trying.

Also on 200mg Lamictal, the addition of Abilify was disastrous for me. It was like speed. I could not sleep for days, and was walking around just fidgeting, mind racing, very manic. For a while, it was a nice change, but I had to get off of it, I was quickly burning out.

I took Lamictal along with Abilify for awhile. I had terrible insomnia after a while. PA told me it was likely an Abilify side effect so we stopped it and moved on to Geodon. I HATE this rollercoaster!

I am taking 200 mg lamictal (up from 100 mg as of last week) and 10 mg Abilify (also up from 5 mg) for biopolar spectrum (BPII). I'm not sure what each of these do--is one for the depressive state and the other for the manic state?
Also, I still feel some irritability occasionally, but mostly I just feel blue and have very low energy. How long should these symptoms persist with the use of these drugs? It's so frustrating because I am having a hard time assessing changes in my moods--either positive or negative ones. Anyone else have similar issues?
