Hello all:
Wow, it's been a long time since I've been here.
I'd like some feedback from Lyrica (pregabalin) users.
My GAD sypmtoms are now out of control and my old regimine of Klonopin/tryptophan isn't helping (unless I increase the Klon. which I refuse to do, cuz I'm already losing memory).Lyrica sounds like a good alternative. It's now available in Canada, apparently.
Anyone found it useful for GAD, Restless Leg Syndrome, (and affective depression, affective hypo-mania - due to stress)???Any side effects? Particularly weight gain?
Thanks a lot
Jas

Hi Jas

I know! That's what I was thinking!
>Lyrica sounds like a good alternative.
Lyrica was recently approved for the treatment of GAD throughout the European Union.
>It's now available in Canada, apparently.
Yes, it is. I don't think it's approved for GAD in Canada but I guess that doesn't really matter so long as your doc is willing to prescribe it.
Have you ever tried gabapentin (Neurontin)? It is related to Lyrica.
Regards
Ed

Hey Ed!! : How nice it was to receive an answer to my first post in at least 9 months, from YOU!! It was like being greeted by an old friend. LOL THX! (How are you doing?).

Well that's good, at least I have some ammunition to take to my doc!

And since you know so much about Benzo's... do you think that I've become tolerant to Clonazepam after 2 1/2 years on it (I've taken a maintenance dose of .5mg daily without needing to change for about 12 months, but it's now not cutting it). My doc told me to go back up to my starting dose of .75 - 1.mg per day, but at .75mg I'm still getting panic attacks and a kinda "hyper" anxiety and after about 2 weeks am really having memory issues. And now a very "low" feeling every now and then.
Maybe a different benzo is in order????Thanks for your help.
Jas
