Help: Started Nardil (New) formulation.

Posted by cerebus on May 25, 2006, at 15:26:05

Started Nardil 2 days ago at 7.5mg at bedtime. Would this even be in my system yet? I am having loose stools but could be from Effexor withdrawal or the end of a round of antibiotics. How long does it usually take to notice the effects? I really hope this medication is worth the sacrifices. Please any advice very appreciable. Will definitely have other questions and concerns. Also - if this doesn't do it, what other meds would you suggest for GAD - Slight SP?

Sounds like a result of the antibiotics... 7.5mg is such a small starting dose...are you med sensitive? You most likely will not feel the effects of Nardil until you are up to 60mg-90mg... stick it out.. the first couple of weeks may be tough (side-effect wise) but you may be pleasantly surprised by Nardil (I was!)

The key is not to be to concerned with the "new" formulation-- it worked just fine for me-- and not to get caught up in reading too much about side-effects, etc... trust your body, and how it feels, not what you necessarily read.

I think the diarrhea was from the Nardil. I am very medicine sensitive. The only reason I believe this is because I took Parnate for about a week and a half and the same thing occurred. Every time I would eat I would have to use the restroom. Do you still take Nardil and how are your side effects? I believe I am going to try Cymbalta; doesn't work then back to Effexor. Thanks - for the info.

It worked just fine for you,at the same time it did not work fine for a couple of hundred people, people still to this second trying what seems pointlessly to get something changed.

Nevertheless they are there, and i have seen you take part in the group so im sure you know the group, thats a lot of folk, and for myself to hear veteran users on it for 20 years or so say they were glad to "stumble" to that group and find out the problem cause they taught they were going crazy that the med stopped working,...well i have trouble discredting that.

So i dunno, who decides whether or not the formulation change is something that made the drug work differently?

I know my gut tells me those people did notice the change, and the medication for whatever reason was a better medication pre formulation change.

Nevertheless of what we have now,its defintaly worth a shot,i wish you luck keep us posted!
