I've been on Lexapro for three weeks now and am still quite sedated. My doc tells me that most of his patients are activated by it. I take 10mg a day, 1/2 a tab am and pm. Interested in knowing how many here have experienced sedation and if so did it go away after a while?

No stimulus here from Lexapro. Just made me drowsy. Lasted about a month and I gave up.

Ditto that for me. Even taking it in the evening I was still tired and out of it the next day. About 6 weeks for me and I gave up.

Yep, I'm the same exact case as you. I split my 10mg. doses into 5mg.twice a day. 10mg all at once kills my libido and energy. All SSrI's seem to do is blunt your emotions. I'm having a hard time complying with taking this as prescribed but my doc swears up and down that this is "how it's done"
If I had something like provigil to counteract it that would be good but I don't have that option with my doc

I was sedated to the point of being a walking zombie for several weeks before quitting Lexapro. I was on a starter dose of 5 mgs. Prozac worked for me before, but I quit that after six months because I was nearly hit by a truck and had no emotional or physiological reaction. My current treatment is SAMe in two morning doses. I sometimes experience mild hypomania if I drink too much coffee, but it is actually pleasant.
