Does anyone know how bad it will be? I think there was someone who quit already and had some withdrawal. Or maybe people who were in the trials shared their withdrawal experiences. I'm wondering because I may have to quit if it doesn't bring back my sexual feelings which I lost from taking ssris. I'm not sure right now but it may be making things even more numb, hard to tell though since things were so numb to begin with.

Many people have no withdrawal problems from AD's.
The only problem I had (out of about 10-15 AD's) was Effexor. And that just lasted a few days.

If someone was having withdrawls from stopping the patch I'd prabably start cutting it into smaller pieces to help with a slower taper. Just a thought

the monograph for emsam says to not cut the patches.

I read that info on the package insert, but if I was stopping and having some withdrawls I wouldn't be conserned about cutting the patch in half, then perhaps in quarters for a short period of time just to help with withdrawls. That said I wouldn't consider cutting the patch for long term use.

In 10 years of low dose deprenyl/selegeline use I've never noticed a withdrawal syndrome. I wouldn't worry overmuch.

Declan--
what dose do you take and for what symptoms? Are you going to switch to the patch now?
What is your understanding on ratio of patch/oral as to dose. I heard 6 mg patch = 14 mg oral.

I joined the Life Extension Foundation, and that was one of the things they recommended....I mean I've been kinda depressed or something all my life, I've no idea if this is normal or not or whether it matters.....I liked the libertarian strain of LEF's thinking, so that's the reason, and I think it's good stuff. I took 1mg/d sublingual deprenyl citrate mainly. I would have taken more but I have sleeping problems.....without deprenyl too, although not now that I'm on tianeptine, which also seems to make unhappiness more comfortable.
I'd like to try the patch but I'm sure insomnia would be a limiting factor. If more than 1mg/d deprenyl sublingual made sleep worse, I can't see how the patch would be any better.

There's the difference between the hydrochloride and the citrate, sublingual vs oral, and the patch vs oral. I just dunno, but I remember someone (Roland?) saying that 1mg sublingual deprenyl was almost equal to 10mg oral, which sounds improbable. OTOH Gibber was taking 35mg/d selegiline oral and didn't notice it.
