I need an opinion please.
I have seen many people mention Klonopin on this site. Is this a good "substitute" for xanax? I know I have read past posts that xanax has its own particuliar properties that are unique to itself. I have always taken this to mean that NOTHING can take its place....especially if you have been on my high dose of 6 mgs per day for several years.
If there are some experienced xanax to Klonopin switchers out there, I would appreciate hearing from you. It sounds like Klonopin is easier to withdrawl from that xanax, however it seems as though there is no real substitute for xanax. Why is this????????? Whats makes xanax the Mac Daddy of all Benzo's that it is extremly hard to ween from????

You where probably thinking of Rjlock....
I take 6mg of Xanax PRN i was on 6mg of Klonopin.
Lets see there really is some diffrence.
The one thing about Xanax is it wears off QUICK.
Xanax presesnts sort of a dopamine "relief" sensation, you feel better. But for me, Klonopin doesnt give that sensation.
Personally from my perscpective, Xanax does make me depressed. I dont take more than 1mg at a time.
Klonopin i heard works on serotoin receptors, i dont know where i heard that, but when i was on Cloanzepam i was, well Klonopin is a potent benzodiazepine. There is no doubt about it, it will really zone you out. But Xanax works i cant explain, somehow diffrently it is a "triazolo analog of the 1, 4 benzodiazepine class" i dont know i just looked that up on google. To just give you some info.
Xanax does zone you out, but in my opinion when you have had a very VERY stressful day, Klonopin is better. Because it decreases the brain frequency firing. I dont belive Xanax does, its not an anti-convultant like Klonopin. You dont feel that "release", it brings back down. Decreases eletrical pulse firing (Klonopin)
But also can make you depressed.
Both are very well for panic attacks. I may go back to Clonazepam.
Xanax makes you feel drunk, and you cant rerember very much at high doses. Like 2-3mg. Which i dont take. I usally take 1mg. That is why is maybe it is the MacDaddy of the Benzo's.
I hope this gave you some insight
This is the end of the thread.
