Don't know what to do. Please help!

Hi there;

Well, I have been taking Cymbalta for a week now, but only today have I decided on a dose that I seem to be able to tolerate (4mg - I'm very sensitive to these meds).

The SSRI's work wonders for me (especially Luvox and Zoloft), but they make me so fatigued that I just cannot function.

There is much evidence that I am very depleted in norepinephrine. Strattera worked like an absolute MIRACLE until it pooped out on me 4 months later.

I have been trying various meds that affect norepinephrine including Wellbutrin, Reboxetine and Provigil. None of them have panned out.

So, in my last ditch effort to try to blend a serotonergic med with something that affects norepinephrine, I am trying Cymbalta.

The problem is is that it is making me markedly MORE depressed. It is very noticably the drug doing this. I have heard that drugs that affect NE can make one more depressed, but that this can go away after about two weeks.

HAS ANYONE EXPERIENCED THIS?? Has anyone experienced a worsening of depression on a new drug and then have this effect fade after a while??

I just don't know whether to stick it out on the Cymbalta or not. It is making me feel HORRIBLE emotionally, but has been allowing me to function physically for the last few days (been much much much less fatigued - actually went running yesterday, WOW!!!).

Please help. I just don't know what to do.......

This happened to me too - got more depressed on the SSRI's and Strattera. Very anxious on Wellbutrin. So, the anti-depressants didn't work for me, but now I'm taking lamictal....any chance of trying it? It's a mood stab. - but supposed to help more with with depression. Usually rx'd for seizures or bi-polar, but depression too. It's taken awhile, but it's making me feel a whole lot better.

good luck,
fw
