Hi everyone following my progression Nardil -> Parnate.Even if I'm at Day 6 / 7 I decided to start Parnate today. We are tuesdays and I was supposed to started it Thursday.
If you look at the Parnate monographic doc, you will see that these guys say that the monoamines oxydases is all comed back in between 3 to 5 days. It's far from what others medical literature says about this, but ...
I'm ready to take my chance. I think it's a chance of 1 on XXX,XXX of having VERY SERIOUS (dying?) problems.
If you have comments or flames (LOL) for me before I start Parnate, you have 2 hours after I post this message. Currently 5:00h PM in Eastearn Canada.

Hey Parn,
Sounds good. But did you say 5:00 pm? So you will take it at 7:00 p.m.? I know you are anxious my friend, but i would wait and take it first thing in the morning. You might get an amphetamine effect with the first dose (i doubt it though) and you won't sleep well tonight.
How much are you going to start with? I started with 20mgs. for 2 days all in the morning. then 30mgs 2 days all in morning, then 40mgs.2 days all in morning. Some people are going to say, "THAT'S WAY TOO MUCH, TOO SOON." But i'm a risk taker and i wanted fast relief, and it worked out fine for me. By day eight or nine i was already on 60 mgs. and day 10...1 hour after morning dose, Bam, it kicked in...it felt incredible, especially after feeling like dog crap for so long.
Anyway dude, that's what i would do. Hope you are in good spirits my fiend. Let me know what you think? :^)-Monte

Hi Craze,Honestly ? I think that I have the sweet little red pill between my finger and a lot of stuff to make me sleep tonight :)= Maybe it will not work .. but at least I will know for the future.. I'm a slow learner you see ? ;)
My dose is 10mg x3 .. and I think my Pdoc will increase that Thursday.I will take only 10mg tonight and see if I got strange interaction or else.. tomorow I'll do the full 30mg.
Question: Why do you take it all in the morning the first few weeks ? what's the strategy behind it ? Couldn't it cause tolerace sooner ?

Yeah I'm a risk taker when it's about feeling better the sooner possible. Here it's 6 oClock and I'll take my first dose of 10mg .. I think I will be OK.. My guess is that I will be able to sleep like at 3Am with my sleeping artillery.
About the risk; I think they are very little.. the Parnate doc talk about waiting 7 days between an MAOI and another MAOI.. and I'm a day 6 .. in 6 hours it would make 7 days.. so I'm think it's safe.
Just feel like NEO in the Matrix.. it just lacking Morpheus .. but who care ..
I choose the red pill.

My PDoc recommends this..He is brilliant, seriously. Take it all at once and you will get a response quicker. Later when you get up to around 100mgs. Than you spread it out to help with the fatigue factor. And no, it will not cause tolerance quicker. Many people take all their Parnate first thing in the morn. I have taken 130mgs all in the morning and talk about a amphetimine effect...WOW! I promise if you spread those little doses out it will take a lot longer for it too kick in. Remember, this is my second time on Parnate. Others are going to tell you differently bud...give you all the "scientific" reasons why you should do it their way, but trust me on this one, you will not be sorry.Monte
p.s. Remember parnate has a short half life. So if you take 20 at 7 a.m., 20 at noon etc. Your getting these little doses that are gone before you get to the next one. Taking all at once you are getting a larger concentration of the med all at once...and this will help you to "feel it" much sooner. And even though it has a short half life, you will feel it all day long..weird but true.

Thanks for the tip.BTW, how much time does it take to do something ? it's been 45 min and I'm more sleepy than before I've taken it :P I know it normal since the meds hasn't kicked yet because of the small dose but some side effect are starting right after the first dose.. bizare but I think I will tale a power nap before my supper :P
I wish I would already tomorow.. or better.. Friday! Thursday I'm pretty sure my Pdoc will put me on 50mg or like.
I'm happy with the red pills.. they don't smell and tast rotten like Nardil does ..

We got home kind of late, hope you are doing well. When you start to feel Parnate work it's always 45 mins to 1 hour after taking the dose for me. You are going to take 30 mgs. tomorrow a.m.? You might feel something, but if not don't freak, remember it took me 10 days, and some people even longer.
