Hello everyone,
I am quite desperate to find a competent psychopharmacologist in Chicago (or the adjacent suburbs). I just returned home to Chicago after being overseas for the last year, and I'm in pretty bad shape mentally. My meds are failing me and my current doctor seems to be out of ideas.
I've been battling depression for the last 13 years, and have had success with only a small fraction of the many medications that I have tried.
I had two wonderful years using a combination of Prazac and Desipramine (until it inexplicably pooped out).
Then several years later, I had eight blissful months while taking Adderall but tolerance soon set in. For the ensuing 14 months, I was able to muster some sort of functionality using an ever-changing combo of meds that included Adderall, Dexedrine, Provigil, Wellbutrin SR and Klonopin.
I am currently taking Wellbutrin SR, Klonopin and if I absolutely need functionality, I will take some Dexedrine.
I know there are other things I can try, but I need a good psychopharmacologist to lend me some much needed guidance.
If anyone could respond with any recommendations, I'd appreciate it very much.
Thanks.
This is the end of the thread.
