It's been six hours since I took it. How long is this going to go on?

Normally I think the group ignores questions like this, but I'd say you will feel the effects of the XR version for about 10 to 14 hours before you get the point where you won't be able to sleep. Good luck, don't abuse those drugs. Not a good idea.
Regards,
Matt

Who's abusing anything? I wondered if I was being ignored! I guess it's a problem of vocabulary. I use being high to describe the effect of the drug-feeling overstimulated etc. It wasn't something I was seeking. It faded after another couple of hours. I wanted to know about the half-life etc but I already googled so no need to know now. I just wondered about others' experiences. I was prescribed the Adderall for depression. I also drank a couple of cups of coffee that morning but the "high" feeling didn't start for several hours.
Thanks for your reply.

LoL! Yeh, I got what you meant, when I read your post the first time...
Just hadn't had time to read much lately, and didn't have anything useful to add about Adderall XR, so didn't read until today.
I didn't feel high on Adderall, which I only took for a very short time and only in the regular release version. In fact, it increased my depression a great deal, which is why we stopped it. (We, by the way, referring to my pdoc and me.)
I *did* feel high on Ritalin, though, and it was worse on the long acting version, Concerta. I've been told that the high feeling goes away after about six weeks for most people, so not to give up, and I probably could have waited that out -- but I had other "issues" with it... It's a very uncomfortable feeling, and it's hard for me to imagine that people pay good money to feel that way -- although, to be fair, I didn't go out dancing while taking it...
I'm glad you feel better, and am sorry it didn't work out for you. Had you tried the regular Adderall? Did that help?

hi! ummm..it depends. some people just shouldn't take stimulants. I mean, it sucks, but some people just dont play well with them. On the other hand, if you wait it out for a couple weeks, or try normal adderall dosed over a couple times per day, that might work. Switching--to ritalin, provigil, or even dexedrine--might also be an option.

hi, I've been taking addxr since about mid oct..... I didn't really feel much of a "high" on 10 mg. I have been taking 20 mg for a month and a half, and I occasionally give myself a day or 2 off. I notice sometimes when I take the med again I do feel kinda high - nothing overwhelming, but definitely noticable.
that said, I think addxr is the best add med I've taken thus far - have taken dexedrine, desoxyn and ritalin but I think they may have increased my depression, or at least not helped it... good luck, hang in there and get used to the med, that high feeling will probably go away.
