I know halcion -triazolam will make you fall asleep but wont keep you asleep becuase it wears off too quick.

Triazolam is effective for inducing sleep but less effective for maintaining sleep. Flurazepam is effective for both.

i dont know where you live but here (the us) triazaolam is **rarely** used; its too problematic (withdrawal, psychotic reactions, etc.) and seems to have been pretty much replaced by temazepam and the "z" hypnotics (ambien and sonata). If you're going the old-school route, flurazepam would be better; even better, possibly, would be diazepam, since it lasts so long..its easier to taper than other benzos, and its lasts a long time, so a PM dose can help with day-time anxiety. Good luck!

Would you recommend ensuring taking Flurazepam WITH my already-prescribed Restoril to fall asleep?
Last night I took 2 mg Ativan, 4 mg Klonopin, and 15 mf Restoril, and 50 mg Topamax, and STILL did not fall asleep for hours and hours and hours.

wow. thats alot of meds for sleep. Have you talked to your doc about this? You can go up to 30mgs Restoril (I think thats the biggest capsule they make). Klonopin really isn't good as a sedative; Ativan can be used as a sedative, but 2mgs is kind of low for sleep....
I think maybe your doc could adjust things so you could be on a highish dose of 1 med (or 1 new, stronger med) for sleep instead of playing mix-n-match.
Good luck!
