BP, hypomanic type. Has anyone with BP tried this combination?

Do pdocs use it?

I was on Parnate + Lamictal for a few years. I can't attest to its capacity to bring one into remission - it didn't do that for me. However, it does seem to be a very safe thing to try, and smart too. I would do it. Just follow to the letter the instructions of the manufacturer regarding titration. It is important to avoid raising the dosage too quickly so that one prevents the triggering of dangerous allergic and rash reactions.

I failed to mention that I'm taking 300mg of Wellbutrin and 300 mg of Lam. I dropped the dose of Lam. to 300 from 400 mg recently. Now I'm thinking of reducing it to 200 mg .

I titrated fairly slow on the way up, but probably didn't sit at any one dose long enough.

I had good luck with Parnate for about 14 years. Then I experienced hypomania after taking Effexor.

My concern is that Parnate may be to stimulating for BP. If I don't do better a 200 mg of Lam., I may ask my pdoc to let me try Parnate. I think she's one of the newer pdocs who have never prescribed it.
