Now I'm really confused. I was taking l5mg of valium at night. Lowered my dose to l0mg for the last three nights. Still sleeping the same but now I'm more depressed and tired. Also on Luvox 50mg. Any idea why this is happening? I thought it would be the opposite. Thanks, Fondly, Phillipa

Hi PJ
Increased depression and fatigue are common benzo withdrawal symptoms. You could increase your dose to 12.5mg for a while then reduce to 10mg if possible.

Hi PJ
No, I wasn't overwhelmed! I couldn't read all the mail yet though because the internet broke last night. It seems to be working again now.

Hey phillipa, did you know that luvox and valium have a moderate drug interaction. Apparently the luvox slows down the elimanition of valium from your body via the liver so it makes it more potent and last longer, maybe this could have something to do with it. My pdoc didn't know about it and lowered my valium intake when I was on that particular combo. When he looked into it further he actually wanted me to stop the valium altogether and switched me to rivotril(klonopin) until I came off the luvox once it pooped out. Apparently xanax has this problem in conjunction with luvox too. Luvox can be quite sedating. I'm sure you are aware of this already but I just thought I'd let you know. Also I found that Luvox was second to effexor xr with discotinuation syndrome for me anyway. All the best Paul

I knew about the xanax and looked up luvox and saw the same. That is probably why the first time the pdoc gave me ativan. And I didn't have any withdrawal when i stopped luvox. Fondly, Phillipa
