I am on Effexor 225xr for 4 yrs and whenever I get a cold the brain zaps and withdrawl like effects always happen, its hard to deal with. Anyone have anything that could explain this?

No I did not quit, the withdrawl similiar effects are present everytime I have a cold or temp>

Try splitting up your dose for a few days. It helped me back in Nov. Dec. when I couldn't even walk up stairs without getting brain zaps and almost blacking out
