I have been taking Trazodone 200mg for about 12 years, and have never experienced any problem with priapism. I am also taking 60mg of Cymbalta. I asked my doctor about the chances of priapism on Trazodone. He said that is only a problem if the dose is above 300mg. Trazodone was originally intended as an antidepressent medication, but the effective dose was between 400-600mg. People taking that dose, were sleepy all day, so it was not the drug of choice. Now it is used as a sleep aid. I have tried the newer sleep aids for my insomnia i.e. Ambien, Lunesta, Rozerem. None of them worked for me at all, So I am sticking with the Trazodone.

I am also taking 60mg Cymbalta for severe anxiety / panic attacks and Trazedone for sleep. The combo really seems to be helping me a lot- thank goodness!
What are you taking Cymbalta for and is it helping?
Best Regards
Shelly

I am taking the Trazodone for sleep as well, although I think I get some extra antidepressant response combining it with the Cymbalta.
