Hi all,
I am 2 weeks after Chiari neurosurgery and... doing fine! Neurological symptoms have gone, fatigue dramatically improved. I am sure some of you have similar problems that I had. Please visit the sites below and check:

Hi Ixus!

It's great to hear that you're doing well :)

Do you still take an antidepressant?

Regards

Ed

Hi Ed,
I take tranylcypromine as usual. I will wait 4-6 months and then try to withdraw slowly. I know that I am very dependent on it since I needed to stop taking it before surgery.
Another question is if my brain compression (stem, cerebellum) symptoms are reversible. Time will show.
I don't feel dizzy any longer, my memory is far better.
People notice constant improvement during first several months after surgery.

Hi Ixus

By what time after surgery are the maximum benefits usually evident? A few months after surgery?

Good to hear from you :-)

Regards

Ed

From the patients stories it is from 3 months up to 2 years. There is little information as the acm is not so common ( 0.5-1% of population)

P.S. Instal skype (www.skype.com) on your computer, so that we can talk ;-)
