Its Christmas Eve and my mood has suddenly slipped drasticly, great! :(
I'm currently on Marplan, which I don't really want to discontinue before taking another AD
The options of what you can combine with an MAOI are a bit limmited, especially in the UK
Presumably Lofepramine can be safely combined with MAOI as its similar to Desipramine
Which is the only TCA its completely safe to combine with an MAOIIs that right?

The Christmas eve mood slip followed by the Christmas day wipe out. Can't you enjoy that lovely cold weather you should be having? 30 degrees here and 80% humidity. So the Marplan must help a bit, or you wouldn't wanna continue it. You must feel crook if you're thinking of TCAs plus MAOIs. The sun's just up, it looks vaguely like the end of the world, very striking.
See ya

Hey Declan
I think I owe you an email, better check
I'm not discontinueing the Marplan firstly because it is working well for anxiety, if not for social anxiety
Thats typical for meI'm also scared of withdrawing from Marplan, don't know what it will be like.......
Also I need a backup plan, if I do withdraw
I don't want to be left completely high and dryDon't what to do people
Wonder were Ed is?

I've read that lofepramine is extensively metabolized to desipramine in the liver. I haven't studied it enough to know if it can be safely combined with a MAOI. There are effects of the medication other than from the metabolite desipramine. I have combined nortriptyline at 100mg with Nardil at 75mg. Nortriptyline is the major metabolite of amitriptyline. IMHO any of these combinations can be potentially dangerous and should only be administered by an expert in psychopharmacology.
Good Luck,
Jedi
