My doctor told me today that he was hired to help with the language on the packaging on EMSAM. He's a heavy weight in reasearch and knowledge of psych meds, well known (its probably best I not mention his name).
He indicated that the drug co's were spending a ton of money getting ready for what they think/believe will be an approval from the FDA sometime in February. That he believed it would be available to the public by May.
It's the first real encouraging words I've heard in a while and based on his opinion (which I highly value) it seems it actually will be coming out. Before today, he was pesimistic about it getting approved. There was a lot he couldn't tell me for obvious reasons, but he smiled gave me the nod that it was mostly likely going to happen.
He also said he really believed it would be a significant new drug, an option for those who have been treatment resistent to depression and anxiety disorters. Anyway, just thought I'd throw the info out to those that have been following it.
