I would really appreciate it if some people could tell me some success stories about taking Klonopin for anxiety and Wellbutrin for depression.
Wellbutrin alone caused a lot of anxiety thus my pdoc put me on Klonipin 1mg twice a day and things are feeling a lot better.Does any one know how long Wellbutrin takes to start working. As of now I am taking XL 150 for a week and move up to 300mg's mext week.
I know this is a relatively boring / simple question for this board, but I have tried so many unsuccessful combo's in the past , it would be good to hear that this may have worked for some people. Please let me know thanks a million

I took Klonopin for a long time for anxiety and it worked great. Knocked the anxiety right away-only problem for me, is that it made me very tired. I think it is a benzo (someone correct me please if I am wrong), which for me, tended to make me tired after a few hours. But again, worked great for the anxiety.
Never been on Wellbutrin so will let those with more knowledge respond.
Good luck. Sometimes it takes a few tries to find the right medication but I believe there is definitely the right one out there for everyone.

A lot of posters have a great response to wellbutrin. I was not one of them but don't base this on anything. I do not respond well to meds. Fondly, Phillipa

Hi, Jim. I have been off and on this combo for years. Currently, I take 300 mg of WB XL and 1 - 1 1/2 mg of klonopin/day. Not many doctors like to prescribe Klonopin. It really helps my anxiety. WB works in about 3 weeks.
My story is that I went to many doctors for anxiety, depression and insomnia. At times I felt like a guinea pig when -trying a new medication each month or so. It seemed that this combo worked the best and I stuck with it for a while.
I quit a few times because I felt "well." I made it 6 months one time until the anxiety was too much.
Wellbutrin gives me the energy to get through the day and I love it. It made me have a short temper for the first 3 weeks, but that got much better after that. The left over temper is calmed vey much by the Klonopin.
I have a strange side effect from the WB, tender breasts for 3 weeks at a time (probably won't hurt the men, like you, Jim)- I see it as a side effect that is a mere inconvenience compared to the depression/anxiety/insomnia that I suffer.
All other meds had horrible side effects that were dangerous. Some say benzos are dangerous. Well, my response to that is- they help ME- that's all I know!
I sure hope in the next few weeks it works for you. I think it is great. Others say it made them manic. To each their own. Good luck.
