Does anyone else feel like thier are loosing thier memory? I feel like I can't think anymore. I can't remember anything (very unlike me)and I can't think straight. Example: I went to put some plastic bags with the rest of the plastic bag stash, and I threw them in the trash instead... little things that make me feel crazy! Anyone had that? I am also taking my Prozac around 4pm, and I have been falling asleep by 8pm, and then waking up around 4am, then I am yawning all day! Do you think switching to taking it in the morning would work better?

Are you sure that this is the right med for you? I also read your post below. Sounds like you aren't very happy w/ it. How long have you taken it? What else have you tried?
Also, memory probs can be a symptom of depression. Is the prozac adequately controlling your depression?
Best,

Hey there, I went crazy too on Prozac -- it was the first SSRI I had ever taken, and I just went loopy. It gave me really bad aniexty (which has bad to begin with anyway), I couldn't eat, I couldn't sleep, I loss loads of weight. I finally switched to effexor which was abit better. I'm currently taking St John's wort, and I'm getting the memory thing too - I completely forget how to spell words I could have spelt before, and it takes me longer to comprehend a newspaper article. Strange huh?

Sounds like the prozac is pulling you to sleep. Maybe you should take it later in the evening, like around 8 or 10pm.
Also if you can't think straight maybe consider a different AD. I didn't like prozac either but that was so long ago now I don't remember why. I switched to celexa, did you try that one?
Also I was wondering if you get the most forgetfull right after you take the medicine and then it would be better to take it at bed time.

Was there a specific reason that you take it at 4pm? Many people take it right before bed and have success w/ that.

I do not take prozac but I have noticed that my memory is way worse when I am under stress. And lately I have been under extreme stress and I will forget what I was talking about in the middle of a sentence or while I am going to do something I will be like what was I doing? It is a horrible feeling I know! Or I will be typing and I forget how to spell words and then need to sound them out. It really is weird.

I just started taking the prozac, so I don't know if it is right yet. I am still waiting for my anxiety to go away.
