Hi Fletcher - Welcome.
So the CR version isn't "CR-ing"? I briefly used regular Ambien and found I was OUT, as in
O-U-T... out for exactly (almost to the minute) 4 hours and would awaken as if someone had shot me out of a cannon. I did redose on the regular version. It was a bit of a weird feeling in that there was no drowsiness prior to sleep. There was no "falling asleep" -- just GONE.This post isn't helpful but just what I found on regular Ambien.

I am taking it but I am not sure what my concensus is yet . I redosed the other night when I had to get some sleep for my sleep study and that was with 15 mg OF Valium. It did the trick ..however I also was stupid enough to take 2 20 mg tabs of REG Adderall between 5 and 6 pm .some bearing but not much! just don't know.
How long is the half life of this new wonder drug anyhow.? Anyone really know?
Thanks
Snapper

Wow, I'm so glad I don't have this problem with Ambien. I don't wake up early. In fact, if I don't plan for getting at least 7-8 hours sleep, I have a terrible time waking up.
Guess this is another example of how meds affect us all uniquely.

Welcome FC!
I took Ambien for a couple weeks after I lost a child and it worked like a charm. Recently when I was hospitalized, I requested it because I was so stressed out about being away from my family and the Ambien did not work at all. I don't think I got even two hours in. I'm not sure what dosage I was given. I am happily taking doxepin for sleep. My GP suggested it and i get a really good night's sleep when I take 25mg.
Good luck,
Colleen
