Silicon Valley Brain Imaging

i found this on the internet. i don't know much about them. i want to see someone for diagnostic clarity and PROPER treatment guidance.

i am impressed that they included images of asperger's syndrome and the brain in their images section. that was something i was diagnosed with when i was younger (though now we don't follow that anymore, as while i'm socially inept and ineffective and often obsessed with strange technical info, it doesn't present like an actual asperger's case at all)

also i'm wondering if their machine is superior to the old picker prism models the amen clinic uses...

i am also really impressed how him and dr. amen have worked together and seem to be helping each other out rather than gearing for adversarial competition. this may show that they really believe in their practice with SPECT imaging helping them help patients and are really geared towards promoting the technology and methods and making it accessible to patients. (if there is hope in SPECT, lets hope that we can see lobbying to private and public insurance companies for coverage someday. MAYBE THATS THE REAL REASON BRAIN SCANNING IS SO CONSISTENTLY OVERLOOKED AND PLAYED DOWN AND CONSIDERED USELESS DIAGNOSTICALLY, BECAUSE OF SUPPESSION BY THE INSURANCE COMPANIES?? that seems to be the case with a lot of lyme tests!!!)

There are times when I think this kind of imaging would be very usefull.

Depression, bipolar, and schitsophrenia are probably more anatomical than biochemical.

it seem that those two (the anotomical and biochemical) are interrelated. it seems that treatment alters (hopefully improving) the hypo or hyper perfusion they detect with SPECT, and presumably cases of areas having increased or decreased uptake as well.

hey! wait! i really have no idea what im talking about! :P

Now why did you have to mention lyme disease. I have chronic lymes' disease. What have you heard about it and anxiety, depression? Fondly, Phillipa

Late stage Lyme Disease can definitely manifest as psychiatric disorders, most often as depression. Robert Bransfield, MD, has done a lot of work in this area.

I've got no idea either really. I just speculate.

I do know that in cases of treatment resistant mood disorders there may be all sorts of "bad wiring", that may or may not resolve itself with more neurotransmitter.

Kind of like boosintg acetylcholine alzheimers isn't really curing all the plaques and tangles etc.
