I'm so tired of waiting for these pills to work. I just want to feel better. :-(

This is a post from a few days ago:Why don't I feel even a little bit better? 10 days on wellbutrin 150mg and now 6 days on the 300mgs and I still feel NO different. Let me repeat what I said in my above post:
The WB was supposed to help my depression, help lose weight, bring my sex drive back and stop smoking. YEAH as I sit here crying, on the couch (seperate from hubby) smoking and with bon-bons next to me, I find that very hard to believe. I've been on WB 10 days at 150mg and now 6 days at 300mgs= NOTHING.
How long should this take? I've read that people reacted so quickly to the wb. Can anybody tell me in their experience: when did you lose your appetite? was is right away? When did you begin to lose weight? when did you stop smoking? when did you start to feel better? when will I stop crying????

I'm also on 10mgs of lexapro at night. and for my nerve pain from my car accident: neurtonin up to 1000mgs per day and vicoden 2-4 pills per day.But mainly I'm wanting a result from the wellbutrin - I feel even more depressed now. This is one week of being up to 300mgs now, shouldn't I feel something?

It might just take more time or maybe this isn't the right med or med cocktail for you.
My hubby was on Wellbutrin and Lamictal together for about 8 months. He just got off Wellbutrin about two weeks ago (tapered) because I suspected it made him more hypomanicy. Antidepressants can do that in susceptible folks. Definitely in looking back at the last 8 years I would say that antidepressants alone sent him on all kinds of frenzied mood swings. The manicy part (anger and agitation) seems to cause bigger and bigger "crashes" into extreme depression. The p-doc said Wellbutrin doesn't have many of those antidepressant qualities but it had enough in my hubby to create at least some increased maniciness.
Interestingly, Wellbutrin alone also sent my hubby into severe depression 3 years ago after about 1 week of treatment. He was at at the time(about three years ago) on the regular kind (not time release) that you take 3 times a day. The time release that he took this year(1 every 12 hours - generic)that he took w/Lamictal was better but in his case no Wellbutrin is best of all. His p-doc is taking him up to 300 mgs. a day on Lamictal alone. The cost is making the increase very slow - he's at 250 a day now w/no problems as far as we can tell.
This is the end of the thread.
