I am seeing my doctor later today. We spoke on the phone about replacing celexa with mirapex or lamictal.
I have already had my stint with lamictal. It worked for a while and then failed to. In a way I am inclined to wonder why I should try it again. Doc wants to take blood levels of it this time and goe aobe 200 mgs if necessary.
Mirapex, on the other hand, seems scary to me. The side effect profile - mainly falling asleep wherever and whenever, and the fatigue are quite disconcerting. (And here I was thinking that this would be activating!)
I would really appreciate feedback. I am scared right now and, as we all are, so very tired of being so sad....

Mirapex can be activating for certain individuals.

or fatiguing and sedating in my case. :( and to make it worse, it turned out that my doctor thought i was doing better. then when i got off of it, i felt a bit better, and my doctor said that i was obviously doing worse, which made no sense at all.....
i hope you dont get more confusion.

How much Mirapex are you talking about? I take 0.125 mg for PLMS (Periodic Limb Movements during Sleep)

Hi,
I haven't started yet.... If I do start it will be at .5 mgs 3 times a day, after titration. Then he is going to evaluate and see if we should go higher.

Since Lamictal initially worked at 200 mg, it makes sense to try it again at a higher dose.
