Surmontil is a really interesting medication. Apparently, it has some structural similarities to clozapine, which have led to some trials using it as the primary (neuroleptic) treatment for schizophrenia; from what I understand, the trials have been inconclusive (one I read found benefit, but the doses were massive).

Yeah it kind of resembles an atypical d2 and 5-ht2 blockade.
I just wish we knew the absolute minimum that was responsable for an AD effect.
There are so many loopholes in the pure-serotonin hypothesis.
