My great grandmother was diagnosed as a sociopath (and clearly was one). I notice some similarities in her daughter (my grandmother- extremely manipulative, controlling, charming, etc.).
Anyway, I am almost certain our pastor at our last church is a sociopath. I don't say that lightly but I saw the exact same characteristics in him as I did in my great grandmother.
I was curious, is this a mental condition or is it simply "evil?"
Would medication help someone who is a sociopath??

sorry about your grandmother, that would be difficult.

Im almost certain that it is not a mental condition. It is often associated with antisocial personality disorder which IS a diagnosis. And the two are often confused as being the same but they aren't. BUT the catch is that a sociopath generally has the diagnosis of antisocial PD. And someone with antisocial does not have to be a sociopath. in other words it ends up being one. I hope that wasnt too confusing.
