Yes, I've been taking it for almost 2 years. It centers me and quiets my mind nicely. I prefer it over Ritalin, although I took both for a while...the MPH only as needed....then I decided I didn't need to add it any more.
I may go off Strattera for a few weeks soon, only out of curiousity - can't remember what it feels like without it.... Side effects were small and faded after a few weeks. After the black box warning was added, pdoc and I decided to check liver function every 5-6 months. So far so good.
Anything else I can add that might help?

took it for a while, great appetite suppressant, but didn't help me with concentration issues.
though i've heard many people here really like it.

Hi B2,
> took it for a while, great appetite suppressant
ha! too bad we can't get a med to have the same side effect as another person reports..when we might WANT that side effect..I've gained 35 pounds while takeng Strat. Nothing to do with med...it's me eating to soothe myself....one of my deepest problems....:-(
>>but didn't help me with concentration issues
Heard a lot of people (other msg boards out on the net, mostly) say that, too. Helps me by quieting the racket in my head and giving me this inner peace thing I can hardly put into words (not the spiritual type...but physically, emotionally, things don't race or seem jumbled together and out of control...smooth...really smooth thinking)
...but Ritalin helped me in a more immediate *sharp* way, if I had something I HAD to stick to for a couple hours, I'd take 20 mg. and have laser focus...

I couldn't take Strattera because it made me very tired, and I dragged through the day. I did feel calm, and like the way my mind would stay "on track" with things. I am now on Adderall, and things are going quite well. -L

If you try it you should be very careful with the titration. Most phyicians seem to ramp up to 50mg in a month, which is too fast for most people. The side effects of sleepiness, headache, stomach-ache are avoidable if you're willing to take 60 days to reach a therapeutic dose ( I know cause I did it)

Been on Strat for about 5 days and have noticed improvement that I have not seen with any other med and I've taken many. It's not a remarkable difference but it's a very welcome relief. I'm only at 40mg now and will go to 80 soon. I vomitted the first day on it, but I didn't eat anything before I took it, which may help. Now the only side effects have been sexual. For me it has helped depression and cognitive function/concentration. Have other folks had sexual side effects?
