Approx a week ago i went to my doc in prob the worst shape ive been in to date,depression was rampid and uncrtollable,and instead of adding another mood stablizer,we added a low dose of ritalin 5mg to parnate,a weird move but we figured maybe my depression was still untreated and mood stablizers were just worsening that.
Well a week later i am better,the depression is at least,id say i went from - 20 percent to 40 percent which is where i am now.
I still however am sturggling,and i took more ritalin then i should since it was 5 mg.
I head to my doc tommorrow to tell her and to see if we can up the ritalin a little.
Im concerned cause i hear ritlian is addicting,did i build tolerance to that 5mg dose that fast,or is it possable i do have strong adhd symptoms which i thought was always a possability.
I dont mind raising the ritalin dose if i have some sort of adhd and i finaly am taking a med to treat that,if that is the case im fine with upping the dose.What im not fine with is if the 5mg was a nice stimulant for me,and it already pooped out and im going higher cause of that.
I dont even know what a common actual adhd dose of ritalin is.
I dont wanna keep raising the ritalin,if i do have adhd i wanna get to the dose and stop,needing more of a med is a little scary for me.
Also as a side not,the documented parnate/ritalin combo sheets on which the combo was used for treatment resistent depression does say it was started at 5mg and titrated up to 30,it just doesent state the rate at which it was done,any thoughts?
