Severe situation please read

Posted by rjlockhart98 on September 4, 2005, at 22:03:23

I really have been having a hard hit from situations. My grandma is losing her mind, she says people are going to kill her, hallucinating, crying. She broke her ankle at a rest home, it came OUT of her foot, it was horrible. She was put under sedation when she woke up she turned hostile and screamed. I walked out of the room i counld not take it.

She punched my mom, my mom almost beat the (as I have told you before about anger issues) Hell out her but she was at a hosptol, she told her she was going to not put up wth her, and she will make an order to put you on thorazine or an nueroleptic.

Collage too, I cant stay together, who am I? am i going to split personalites to cope with this.

Listen, can i talk to my doctor about adding Ativan to the Klonopin for anxiety, i dont know what is happening, i dont feel real. I have been on Ativan before but it itself did not help with anxiety, i was on 6mg daily. I currenly take 5mg of Clonazepam.

I dont know if i am in control, am i going to lose myself?

hey Matt,

you can stay together. You will not split personalities. I know it is so hard and stressful right now. Try as hard as you can not to focus on the rest of your family. ITs hard, I know.
hang in there

Matt, first of all your Mother can't tell a doctor what to give your grandmother as a medication. They will throw her out if she's acting that way. Is your Dad there too? I'm so proud of you for being so mature and helping to take care of your poor grandmother. She must be in so much pain. And no that's way too much ativan and klonopin to take together. Call your doctor and explain the situation to him. Remember you are l8 and a legal adult. He will know what to do. Promise you'll be safe and you do have my E-mail address. Love, Phillipa

Unfortunaly im not too sure a doc is going to have you on two different benzos.

My doc usualy gives me anything that is with in reason and she did not want to give me xanax/klonopin combo when i begged her.

Have u thought about klonopin and Neurontion, they go well togther, neurontion definatly gives klonopin a nice little kick, and two the togther in my view are much better for anxiety than either alone.Being on too benzos might not help ur anxiety much, there preact the same med.

Nuerotion does things for anxiety than klono does not,and vice versa.

I did get the xanax that time,my thinkiing was xanax in the day so anxiety reliaf is not as depressiong since so many say klonopin is,and klonopin at night since its long acting, would contribute to xanax the next day and klonopin would just mainly help me sleep.

Well the xanax/klonopin combo stunk, klonopin alone was just as effective.

I have used the klonopin/Nuerotion combo for a while now and i have to say for horrid anxeity it really does work.Id look into it.

Willyee would you believe? Since moving to NC more than one pdoc had me on klonopin and xanax at the same time and add chloral hydrate to the mix. Makes you wonder doesn't it? Fondly, Phillipa

Wow, I can so relate. I just lost my Grandmother in June, and at the end she was hallucinating regularly. Its hard to deal with, but I tried to just remain compassionate to her, and keep my sense of humor. Some of the stuff she said was really pretty funny.

As for your mom, try to remember to separate yourself from her actions. They're not your fault or responsibilty. I used to get so upset by my Mom's out of control behavior, but I was finally able to let go and acknowledge that she alone had control over herself and I didn't need to share in her misery.

Try to stay strong. We're routing for you!

I forgot to say I take Xanax for anxiety and it works very well. I haven't taken the others you mentioned.
