You are very kind.

I'm bipolar. I have been diagnosed at 20 years old. I'm now 37. Sure i've been stable in the past. My record has been almost 1 year of full remission.

But this time, i was scared. It has been very rough. A very very bad bipolar depression including severe reverse vegetative symptoms.

Ok, don't laugh at my cocktail because i'm taking a lot of meds ;-)

- Effexor 225 mg
- Lithium 900 mg
- Lamictal 200 mg
- Concerta 36 mg

Hum, the most difficult was to be "mature" enough to accept the side effects of the meds, again.

Keeping my fingers crossed! Bye.

I'm pleased to hear you're feeling better Max :-) (nm) » Maximus

By the way, if you don't my my asking, was it a difficult titration going on the Lamictal? I imagine since you are in remission now that it has been good addition. Did it help your depressive symptoms, or has it been most effective for mood stabilization?

Again, I am very happy for you.

sweet! I noticed like a few weeks into things, at some point, realizing one day, "oh yeah, I'm not craving to jump into my bed all day long!"

that's how I "knew."

Thanks Tamara,

Well, i have been taking Lamictal for 4 years now. But believe it or not i have had to challenge and re-challenge it 5 times. Agitation, anxiety, insomnia and muscle pain were the reasons why i had to stop and start it again. But it worths it.

For me, the lamictal is not very stabilizing. But it is a very good antidepressant. Its effect is deep and stimulating but of course not as much as wellbutrin.

Bye.

Hi Scott,

Like it or not, you are the motivator of this group. In addition to the medication, never abandoned, keep going. Putting confidence in your pdoc is the first step for the remission.

Continue your good work. You are closer to the success than you think.

Bye.

Woohoo!!!

Currently:

Lamictal 150mg
Parnate 80mg
nortriptyline 100mg
Abilify 10mg
Keppra 1500mg

I pray that I am as close to remission as you think I am.

Are you happy with the way Lamictal is treating you right now regarding side effects? If not, what dosage are you at?

I just read your threads about Keppra. Sounds interesting. I wish you good luck with this stuff. Fingers crossed. But just a clue like that: never underestimate the synergy of the combo Lamictal-Lithium. You never know. It might be worth a visit again :-)

That is just logical Scott.

Oh! Yeah Scott. Take a look at it:

Congratulation Scott! So good to hear all your work and persistance has paid off! What side effects are you having with the current meds? Has lamictal ever poop out on you? Thanks ....

I have to tell you personaly for lamcital worsened my depression and ocd.Im glad youre trying keppra,i am gonna try throwing topamax in the mix.

Parnate 60-80

Klonopin as needed .25 mg a day

Nuerotion 30 mg a day.

Wellbutrin 350 mg a day.

Im very dissatfied with this combo,i am ready to remove wellbutrin, and will either add topamax or another stimulate.

I had succsess partialy with dexadrine, are there any other stimulants close to dexadrine but slighty different?

Thanks to you,

I think you meant Max instead of Scott. Side effects are: anorgasmia, water retention and slight memory impairment.

Lamictal has never stopped working. But the illness itself evolves. So you have to "play" a bit with the dose. Currently i'm taking 200 mg. More than that and i feel agitated.

Bye and good luck!

Thanks, Maximus. I am more interested in it to augment an AD, although I don't even know if my new pdoc would consider it. I will raise it with him when I see him a week from Monday, and see what he has to say about it.

Take good care.
