Hi all,
So finally I have quit celexa/ciprmail. After weaning down very gradually and being relatively okay with this, I stopped the celexa/ciprmail on Thursay (I think). I'm also taking reboxetine 2mg/2x day. After being okay yesterday and the day before I now feel TERRIBLE. I'm used to SSRI withdrawal but not like this! I feel very very nausous and have a headache and brain zaps blah blah. Is the reboxetine making it worse? I was looking in the archives and Link mentions something about the noradrengic receptors being more sensitive or something post SSRI.....I might not have got the jist right though.
Anyway after some weeks on reboxetine I think it might be begining to poop out. Although its great for anxiety its not so great for depression like thoughts. I don't know. I might give it up and be med free.....well although then I might do something silly. Sigh.
I might give wellbutrin a go - I know its not available for depression in the UK, but Zyban is. My GP is pretty open to suggestions, so he might prescribe if I smile nicely...
Other than that, I wonder what else might be good for atypical depression? I've tried Prozac (too much aniexty), Effexor (hmmmm okay but not good) celexa (way too much apathy) and now reboxetine. I think something that targets noradrenline might be good.
Love

Hi Meri,

Cipramil + Edronax was a good combination for you. I think you should restart Cipramil at a low dose eg. one which doesn't cause apathy etc.
>I think something that targets noradrenline might be good.
Lofepramine (Gamanil) worked quite well for me. I still think you should return to Cipramil + Edronax though!
Kind regards

Hi Meri,
I'm sorry to hear that you've had a little setback. At this point, I tend to agree with Ed. I think it makes sense to resume Citalopram, in a very small dose, and see how that goes. I wouldn't give up on the Reboxetine yet.
What does your doctor say?

Hi folks, thanks for the replies.
Well firstly, I have had to come off cipramil because my GP (who is totally clueless) wanted me to come off cipramil and onto the reboxetine straight away i.e. no weaning. I started to do this and obviously felt awful, so have been weaning off the cipramil.
So now I don't have hardly any cipramil left so I thought, I might as well go without it. My GP doesn't know I have been taking it all this time. Ah well.
My thinking is now that the reboxetine is pooping out and that I might as well go med free for awhile. I mean I remember (about a year ago now) when I was med free and I had so much energy and I could do things etc and I was better. I then majorly crashed, which was due to the stress of doing a PGCE (a post degree teaching qualification) ... and hence was put on drugs. This seems to be a theme in my life - I do fine then something stressful happens and I really crash. I seem to have a really low threshold for stress it seems! So I figure if I go med free I should be alright as long as I am careful and exercise and make sure I don't stress too much. And get some good CBT and therapy - I haven't tried either yet, maybe i should.

Hi Meri,
>My GP doesn't know I have been taking it all this time. Ah well.
Tell him. Tell him you've felt well on the combination. You did say he was open to trying new things.... or something like that when you mentioned the Zyban.
>My thinking is now that the reboxetine is pooping out and that I might as well go med free for awhile.
........but you were feeling good on the combination. I don't think it's pooped out.
