Here's my question
If someone has success with Parnate and then discontinues, will it work again if they restart?
This is a confusing and worrying phenomenon with many antidepressants, is Parnate particularly prone to this effect?

For a few reasons i HAVE to stay on parnate, and i have tried every stratergy out to get this drug to show even half of the benifit it has in the past.
Its unbelievable how a med that can work so effectivly and feel so powerful could also fee like nothing more than swallowing m&ms which is what it feels like now.

Hey Willyee,
Yeah, I'd like to see that actor try about five years of treatment resistant depression. Oh, and throw in some serious panic disorder just to make it interesting. Easily treated? LMAO!!
Good Luck,

>I'm not sure how long a break you're talking about, but I took Parnate for more than a year then had to discontinue it because of the need to take another medication that could not be taken in conjunction with it. When I took it again several years later, its effect was much diminished. I don't know if that is characteristic of Parnate or if perhaps my metabolism or neurotransmitter functioning had altered in the interim due to use of alternative antidepressants. All I know is that I was very pleased with it the first time but disappointed the second.

I'm thinking of buying Parnate over the internet, because its very difficult to get prescribed in the UK
I don't really trust the interenet as a long term source, because online pharmacies can be unreliable

>There are several reputable online pharmacies...as far as the parnate not working as well after discontinuing it...I find that this is true with most, if not all AD's...im sure it has something to do with our body/brain trying to maintain a state of homeostasis. Metabolic tolerance isn't really ever discussed here, but on a cellular level, your liver will "adjust" to the constant presence of a medication, as will neuron receptors.
