Calling all Welbutrin XL 150mg Users

Posted by theo on August 20, 2005, at 13:39:13

I decided after several months of no meds to give Wellbutrin XL a try. I tried it before but it was in addition to Prozac and Xanax XR over a year ago.

Now I'm just trying it alone. I took my first dose this morning and amazingly enough, no anxiety or side effects at all. This differs very much from my past experience when I added it to a cocktail of meds and anxiety was a factor.

I'm going to try 150mg for a few weeks, and would appreciate any input from anyone taking Wellbutrin XL as far as time to kick in etc. I'm still amazed I have no weird feeling after taking the first dose.

I'm beginning to think this 100% break from meds has made a huge difference versus bouncing from med to med. Taking a break between med trials DEFINITELY gives you a true read.

For me, taking a Med Break has meant all the difference in the world, as I was able to go off of 80mg of Prozac down to 10mg after I had been off of all meds for a few months.

(I don't advocate Med Breaks just for everyone. For me, it had been awhile since 9/11 and I needed to see if I still needed all the stuff I was taking.)

Now that you are on nothing else, you will probably feel the full effects of the Welbutrin XL 150mg within 2 weeks to 3 weeks. If you get agitation, you may need to drop the dose. I was much more sensitive to stuff after I had been off of all AD.

Best wishes!
