SEROQUEL 300 mg

Posted by SandyWeb on August 15, 2005, at 19:16:13

Hi all,

I have been taking 100mg of Seroquel at night for over a year to help with my insomnia. We have just recently increased my nighttime dose to 300 mg to see if it would have an impact upon my depression/anxiety.

Has anyone had success with this dose for depression/anxiety? And does the sleepiness go away? I find that it is so hard to get up in the morning, plus I need to take naps during the day.

Thanks for your responses.

Sandy

Hi Sandy
I sometimes feel very sedated in the morning and it is very hard for me to wake up now that I am off Nardil. I am only on 25mg of Seroquel at this moment.

For me, taking a cup of cofee at mid morning is the solution. You migth try this, or maybe ask your doctor for another stronger stimulant.

Good luck
Tep

Sandy, I think we all build up a tolerance to our meds. But why increase from l00 to 300mg. That's a huge increase. Maybe try to go up a little at a time til you find the right dose. Fondly, Phillipa

I was on 100 at night headed to 300 of seroquel, (for depressive BP2), but 100 caused morning sedation and actually increased my depression. I increased my AD (lexapro at the time ) and cut back on seroquel to 50-75 for insomnia. This worked much better for me. Less depression and better sleep.

You were right. I had to drop back down to my 100 mg. It was only an experiment to see if 300 mg would have an impact upon my depression.

Never again will I go above 100 mg. My brain was having difficulty tansmitting messages to my left leg and both arms. I had a strange gait from rather having to swing my left leg outwards in order to walk. And my arms and hands were so weak....it took an effort to just hold onto a glass of milk. I had to think of how to do it, but there was always the threat that my hand would just open on its own.

All those symptoms are gone now. Phew!!! I didn't like that. Almost like MS....where you're brain is sending out messages, but healthy body parts are not responding properly.

100 mg is to help me sleep, and I'm sticking with it for that purpose only now. Don't mess with my sleep pills! Lol!

God bless,

Sandy
