Hi,
Can somebody advise, what sort of physical checks should you have before having ECT?

Thanks Ilene, did the ECT help you at all? What sort of depression did you have? And is anything helping you now?
I'm completely off all medication now apart from Zyprexa now and again. The Seroxat/Paxil really didn't seem to be helping after Christmas so couldn't see the point in taking it any longer, felt like a change was needed, a switch anything.
Now just feeling lacklustre and unmotivated.

I'm not sure but I'd think an EKG would be necessary. Fondly, Phillipa

I've had memory problems since the ECT. I think some of that is from the depression, too.
I think ECT is worth trying if meds don't work. It works for a lot of people. There's no way of knowing beforehand if it will work for you or not.
I have unipolar depression, probably what's called "atypical".
