i'm still trying to figure out how long klonopin is supposed to last. from the time i take it, it's usually kicked in w/in 15 minutes. how long should i expect it to last.
i know when it's completely gone, because i get really angry.currently i'm dosing twice a day; once in morning and once in the afternoon. but i can take up to three a day per doc's orders.
i get really agitated at night. is that an indication that i should take one at bedtime, too?

In reply to klonopin- how long does it last?, posted by TerraJo on July 25, 2005, at 1:00:21
When nasty anxiety symptoms were at their peak for me, one dose lasted about 6-8 hours and I dosed three times a day. Once things settled a bit, I went to twice a day.
I think it's quite variable person to person and many factors - to include metabolic - come into play as to how long or short timewise the effects lasts. It's a long half life med but I've not known too many folks who required routine dosing who could dose just once a day. That's the thought, but for most, a single dose doesn't appear to "hold" for 24 hours.
This is the end of the thread.
