i've just been prescribed lamictal and lexapro for a mood disorder. i was on lexapro once before and it worked for a while, but it stopped a couple months in and all i could get were samples.
but i was wondering if anyone takes lamictal and if it has worked for you. i'm kind of nervous about taking medications because i've never really taken any before, besides the samples of lexapro.
and are there any bad side effects? is alcohol a big no-no with them?
thanks.

I think Lamictal caused severe itching in me and a long-term rash resulted. But I don't know how common that is for folks.

I just learned that Lamictal is often the first med of choice for BP and is also widely used as an antidepressant -- alone or in combination.
It has a very good side effect profile.
