Explain Link. That was my next step. Figured spirituality might be what is missing. Wish Spriggy was back from Tenn. She would have very inspirational insight for you. That's what has gotten her through all her problems. Fondly, Phillipa

I dropped out of the methodist chruch. the community is invaluable. Is it harder to find a charch who stance is that you already ok, just being.

I was more being humorous. Church is good if you can find unjudgemental support. Like here on Pbabble.

The church is dead, yes, but that has no bearing on the presence or absence of God.

That's ok. I'm not the type of person who is going to shove my beliefs in your face.

> LinkadgeChurch didn't poop out on you, the PEOPLE IN the church pooped out on you. The church isn't dead. The people In it are spiritually dead. They go to church, do the right things etc., but they are not filled with the Holy Spirit. I been bugging my pastor about this lately. He struggles with it too. Yes, God is there. Just look at the mind boggling beauty and complexity of nature.

Amen! ;~}
It's hard to find a loving and living church.
I go to a non-denominational. They're not hung up on ritual, whether you're a member, how much $$$ you give--all the things that turn people off. And they're "real" people. Some of them are even more screwed up than I am! LOL!!! But we love each other anyway; it's an awsome support group.
LOL--I bet even Maximus, satan worshipper that he is, would like it! ;~}

If you or others have questions about this or about posting policies in general, or are interested in alternative ways of expressing yourself, please see the FAQ:
http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/faq.html#civil
Follow-ups regarding these issues should be redirected to Psycho-Babble Administration, and follow-ups regarding the church should be redirected to Psycho-Babble Faith or Psycho-Babble Social. They, as well as replies to the above posts, should of course themselves be civil.
Thanks,
Bob

It's my favorite activity on Sunny Sundays. Being in NYC there is an assortment of possibilities - straight church, gay church, rich church, noisy church. ...
I suspect that people who attend church *in general*
should experience stronger improvement from meds than thos ethat don't regardless of the deity associated. Why? Well the
comparitive pshcyotherapy research is pretty clear that some therapy helps but no single brand more than any other.
My intuition is that therapy, religion, AA and medication + compelling ritual are all exciting the sam epart of a person.
This is the end of the thread.
