I just don't know what to think anymore.
I would actually prefer it to know that this was the cause for my latest "death rant."
Going back to 50mg of Celexa is an easy thing to do, changing the whole makeup of my personality is not.
I personally don't think it had anything to do with my decrease, but then again I could be wrong. So, is it possible?
I'm actually out of Celexa today. I was too tired and upset to go get some more today. If nothing bad happens maybe I can just go off it.

One thing that is important to remember: depression is a lier. You can't trust your thoughts and conclusions in a state such as the one you find yourself in. Intrusive thoughts are sometimes an additional problem to deal with. Try to avoid impulsive actions and reactions that result from this thoughts and feelings. Depression and anxiety or anger can be a dangerous combination. While you remain alive, you will always have choices available to you - even the ones that are for now impulsive.

Yes, that will take psychotherapeutic work, but it is extremely difficult to identify and work through issues in a depressed state. Don't beat yourself up for not making progress in this area. Believe it or not, you are probably moving forward in your personal growth without realizing it.

I am confused as to what you have done with your dosage of Celexa. It is possible that your depression return or get worse for having reduced the dosage if it has already been optimized. By optimized, I mean that you have been taking the lowest possible dosage that yields the most positive results that the drug is capable of producing for you. I doubt that what you are experiencing is a rebound depression (a withdrawal symptom) unless you are experiencing other withdrawal symptoms. You have not expressed this.

Perhaps. Remember, depression is a lier.
I have no emotional or monetary investment in your continuing to take medication. It might make sense for you to make some changes. If you feel that now is a good time to experiment and discontinue Celexa, I would not try to dissuade you from doing that. How could I possibly know for sure your chemical make up? The one thing that I would suggest is that you taper Celexa in a way that prevents you from going through a withdrawal syndrome. You are going to need to refill your prescription. You might feel OK for the first two days without medication, but withdrawal symptoms will probably appear thereafter, and can be so intense as to be intolerable. You can find some suggestion on how to go about tapering SSRIs on the "Withdrawal" board.
Good luck, whatever you decide to do.
Rant if you must. It is a healthy emotional release. Do not isolate. It is an unhealthy reinforcement of depression.

hi Deneb,
changes in dosage can increase anxiety/withdrawal symptoms sometimes. How much did you change your dosage? You didn't say in your message below.I've found that going w/out the med for 1-2 days does not cause me any 'weird' symptoms. But I only skip for 1-2 days max, and then keep going. People have said that quitting cold turkey often causes severe withdrawal in many people, sometimes serious enough to require medical care. I've also heard stories where people quit cold turkey and suffered much milder withdrawal, but it's different for everyone. To be on the safe side, taper down as the manufac. & doctors recommend, if you're going to quit.
