hi all
anyone using Xanax for their general anxiety and/or panic and/or ocd and find that it works and helps?
anyone been on it more than a year with no problems?
i'm thinking of taking XanaxXR because lexapro isn't cutting it alone
thanks!

Im sorry no one awsered this post....... ill post.
Well i have never taken Xanax but i have Been on Ativan 6 mg (2mg X 3) Daily for SEVERE anxiety. about until about 4 days ago until i switched to Klonopin 4MG (2MG X 2) when i thought i was going to sponantously combust.
Ativan will take your edge off, so you less likely want to re-do work. Klonopin to the more extreme, you dont feel like doing ANY work.
Sorry for this lousy post, i just wanted to post on something everyone ignored.

I was on Xanax XR 2x1mg/day for more than a year(and before it i was on Diazepam). On some days when i had to do something i would be more anxious over i used to take 2mg XR on the night before and then 4mg XR in the morning the day i had the special thing to do. On 4mg/day XR i felt completly at peace. Much better than Klonopin for me.

I think Klonopin is a good choice, esp. if your ocd or ocs behaviors are increased with anxiety. It lasts longer in your body and you never really feel it "kick in" or "wear off." But I have never taken xanax for longer than a week or two at a time, before i started taking klonopin, and its different for everybody.
