Does anyone take an Antipsycotic Med with a stimulant?-does the stimulant still work for you? or is its effects negated?

Check out www.addforums.com and scroll down to the meds area. There's an area with meds for co-morbid conditions.

I took the two combined. Ritalin and Zyprexa once.
All I can say was that was the strangest experience ever.
If you want to feel *WEIRD*. I just felt weird. Like I was jumping around in time and space.

There used to be a thing marketed called Stelladex Spansules. Stellazine+Dexedrine. Love the names, what associations!!! Never took them. Waste of good Dexedrine.

Never heard of that one, but Stelazines what i was given by a friend 5mg a bunch of em when she threw the towel in with the APs and went on to Methadone for her 'Scizophrenia'-shes doing better too, thoes darn cure-all opiates/oids.
Iv heard of Thoradex thou Thorazine+dexedrine, what a waste of good Thorazine haha-yer

Abilify is an anti-psychotic and had a stimulant effect on my sister, she was motivated and ready to go. Had to stop though because it gave her ocd!

> CheersHello- I took a low dose of Abilify (3-4mg)/day plus Adderall XR 30 mg/day for several months. I did feel as though the stimulant did not work quite as well, so my doctor upped the dose. However, now that I have stopped Abilify I still find I need more Adderall, so I'm not really sure how much the Abilify affected the Adderall. My doctor did say that the Abilify could negate some of the effects of Adderall, but probably not much with a low dose of the antipsychotic.
