I am seeing the pdoc tomorrow. I know 25mg of zoloft isn't doing anything. And the l5mg of valium doesn't seem to be working well. My chemistry just seems to have changed. I don't know what to tell her. I'm clingy, afraid to be alone, bored easily, afraid of long conversations with people. Have a lot of obsesssive compulsive rituals. Luvox was good a long time ago, but I still needed benzos. Sometimes I think I'm just not absorbing meds anymore. Any suggestions? Fondly, Phillipa

Not to steer you away from meds or anything, but what about therapy? Have you ever done any therapy? It might be helpful for some of the problems you describe. Along with medication.... ?

25 mg is a very small dosage. Is that your normal pattern? You mentioned Cymbalta in another post would that be an option? You could retry the Luvox. Or try Prozac which is good for OCD.
Are you post menopausal? Maybe you should have your hormones checked.
That's all I can think of at the moment. Oh and of course Anafranil for the OCD. It would certainly sedate you.

One thing is for sure. You probably won't need benzos again.

Why do you say that? I've been on them for over 35yrs. My brain probably doesn't know what it's like not to have them. Fondly, Phillipa

He means if you took the Seroquel you wouldn't need to take a benzo. It helped him a great deal with anxiety. That's all.

Maxime, thanks for the clarification because that is what I was trying to say. I take Klonopin. But the Seroquel gave me such a sedative feeling, that I didn't feel like I needed my normal dose of Klonopin. Of course that could change tomorrow. Anyways, the point of the post was to encourage you to try Seroquel. Michael

I know but you would still have to go through a detox from benzos. I do know that in detoxing people from alcohol and xanax valium is used . Where I worked they gave you very high doses of valium and decreased it very fast. I was there once until I could see my pdoc and I have to admit my head was clearer than it had been in years on 5mg of valium. But then my pdoc put me back on xanax. Wonder what it would have been like to be drug free? A lot of the people went into 28day programs where you lived. You were allowed AD's but that's all. Fondly, Phillipa

Michael, Thank-you. I hope I didn't offend you. I tried seroquel once. I passed out and couldn't function at all at l2.5mg during the day. You're right I sure didn't have any anxiety. Just wanted to sleep. Now how do you get it where you can function? But, don't you still have to wean off the klonopin? Fondly, Phillipa

I've been on Klonopin for eight years with the same prescription (3mg/day). There were many days I took all 3, and just as many where I took none. I never felt any withdrawal symptons nor did I feel an addiction. I must say I always felt better if I had the medicine bottle with me. And again, the bottom line of all of is this is that everyone's body reacts differently to medicine. I hope and pray your doctor is able to help you.

I spoke too soon, I am taking them again because the Seroquel level is not balanced out.
