New nardil turned out to be nowhere near as effective as old nardil, caused severe gas (sorry), insomnia and sweating.
I strongly believed that the coating of the new nardil is the primary culprit, as the drug dissolves before it can get to the intestinal walls.
So, for the past few weeks I purchased some enteric coated capsules, crushed up the new nardil, poured the poweder into the capules, and closed the capsules back up again.
The results? The nardil is much more effective, creates very little insomnia and hardly any stomach problems. Feeling really good these days!

So that it's absorbed through the intestine rather than the stomach? Is that what makes the difference?

Very interesting.
There is a thyroid med that dissolves very quickly. Some people don't get the benefit of the med because it disolves before it can to where it needs to be. A prominent writer on the thyroid says to make sure you take it with a full glass of water and swallow it as quickly as possible.Maxime

Is it the same as synthroid? I know I'm supposed to only take it alone and without vitamins but since my levels are normal the doctors don't care how I take it. Fondly, Phillipa

No it's a different med. Your doctors would care how you take if it effected your levels. Right now everything is fine, but if you started to take it with iron, then your levels would go way off in a few months.

Where did you buy enterically coated capsules? I notice the new Nardil works for me, but I never tried the "old" one. You may want to try taking it with bioperine, which aids the absorption of vitamins/drugs and see how that goes.
I would be interested to see if there is a difference if I deliver it straight to the intestine. I will try the bioperine thing tonight and tomorrow.
