Hey,
my mom just told me there is nothing inbetween depression and hypomania. She says I am too demanding. That there is nothing wrong with being hypomanic. I guess I complain too much when I say I don't like being hypomanic. But I thought that it was possible to be somewhere inbetween the two. What have been other bipolar experiences?

Oh goodness yes, there is an inbetween. The fact that your mother doesn't seem the inbetween points to a possable heriditary component ??
Anyhow, many many people live there lives in a more narrow frame of emotion than swinging from depression to hypomania.

In any case, there are two distinctly defined mood states between depression and hypomania.
The sequence, from down to up, goes: depression, dysthymia, euthymia, hypomania, mania.
Euthymia is what you are calling "Normal".

Here's a link to the definition for euthymia. You can link to all the other words, in turn, or plug them in the search bar at the top of the page.

I'd kill for euthymia!!!!!!!!! Or even a low grade -semi constant state of a hyperthymic temperment....if I could control the likely insomnia and other potential factors that could occur!!!!
