I just started taking Trileptal 600mg. I'm not sure, but I think I am having more problems with my memory and am slower-thinking than usual.
Has anyone else experienced these types of side-effects?

This is THE reason I had to get off 1200 mgs.
I still experience it at 600 mgs, albeit to a lesser degree ... sometimes it's still disheartening to hear someone say to me, "you already told me that story yesterday, don't you remember?" but for me, the positive effects outweigh this.

All mood stabilizers make me a little stupid to some degree or other.. but I know it is worth it for the long haul. I tried up to 300mg of Trileptal a day. Even 75mg daytime doses produced some significant DUH episodes, but I also got some serious blurry vision from it too.. and most importantly it didn't fade with time at the same dose. You might just wait a couple of weeks to see if you notice it getting better or worse. It also might be tinkering with the elimination of one of your other meds (although it's not supposed to have significant drug-drug interactions).

I took 1200mg and didnt notice any cognitive decline; initial mild nausea was the only side effect I had.

i was on Tri 300 2xday but i was also on 100 of seroquel at same time.. had major cog. deficits, but my pdoc blamed the seroquel. he said he's noticed it many times before.
never thought to account this to the trileptal. however, overall i thought the Tri helped me.
